Drafting - VCL file

A3 TEMPLATE.vcl (193.5 KB)

Hi Everyone, question about drafting (my weakest area in TBC!). I followed a video of how to bring in a .dwg template to TBC so you have your preset drafting template ready to rock when drafting. I followed the steps and brought the .dwg file in, scaled to the correct paper size (A3) and placed at the correct location. I exported this out as a VCL file, so any project I start I can quickly import the VCL template. If I open a new project up, do the work, drop the VCL into the project, I can see the vcl in the project explore, if I open the project explorer I can see the plan set, sheet set and my A3 layout, if I click new sheet view I can see the template (see screen shot). BUT when I create the dyna view around my work I cannot select the dyna view from the appropriate selections when I click on the sheet set. Can anyone help please. Thank you, Nick

a singular Dyna-view or a collection? different work-flow for each.

If you are tying to populate the single sheet: stack Plan View and Sheet view together > Create Rectangle > Create dynaview > select Rectangle > place dynaview in sheet view > ensure scale is correct > ensure view filter is correct > place.

Dynaview collection is just that, a collection of dyna’s on a grid as defined. all of your data will display consistent across sheets as they will be cut by your scale/row/column definitions.

Hope that helps…
