The Smart profile command provides a fast and efficient way to work with imported CAD or PDF Profile drawings for Roads, Utilities (Storm, Sanitary, Water) or Walls (MSE, Soil Nail Walls etc.).
In the upcoming 2026.2 Release we have added more capabilities to the conversion processes, allowing you to increase the accuracy of the linework that you convert by correcting Elevations, Stations and or adding in Vertical Curves to alignments. We have also made the conversion process bi directional, allowing uyou to convert Profiles to 3D or 3D Data to Profiles for the purposes of building As Built Drawings as overlays to the imported Profile drawings.
Smart Profile is useful for Data Prep and Takeoff Workflows.
For Takeoff - Smart Profile allows you to analyze depth bracket details for utility runs, to assist you in better pricing on projects. You can also now use the inbuilt drawing tools to faster trace off areas, add offset lines for trenvch bottoms etc prior to converting linework to 3D.
