PDF Manager Set Image DPI?

Is there a way to set the image DPI when using the PDF Manager tool? It seems to be set to 300 which makes the images too large to export directly as background images. I would like to set this to 150.

Found a workaround. If I import using the TBC import, I can set the DPI to 150 and then use PDF Manager to place the images.

We plan to provide the creation of Sitework images for each page in an automated way as you georef each page so it is not an added step to the overall process.

We went with 300 default in PDF Manager because 150 can be a little fuzzy and 600 does not add a lot of extra clarity for doubling the image size.

I am surprised that if you are working with PDFs that are eg 11x17 that 300 doesnt work because

11 inches is 3300 pixels and 17 is 5100 pixels and if you multiply those together you get 16830000 pixels. Siteworks is limited to 8192x8192 pixels which is 67,108,864 so an 11x17 at 300 DPI is less than 25% of the Siteworks maximum.

Maybe you just want a smaller footprint file and that is also fine

Hi Alan, NYSDOT has started moving toward providing “Roll Plots” vs traditional multiple 11x17 plan sheets. On some bigger project they can be quite big. Page size 14415.12 x 3168 pts. Unfortunately currently we have to default back to “capture” image exporting to Background Images.

Alan, thanks for the response
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with for exporting the background images!

Typically, we get full size 24x36, 22x34 PDF plans so bringing them in at 300 DPI makes them too large for SITEWORKS. Personally, I haven’t ever noticed much difference between the 150 300 DPI especially with vector PDFs and rasters are always blurry. It would be nice to have the option of DPI selection in PDF manager, but we will use the workaround for now!
