New RPS Smart Suite Tools
At Trimble Dimensions Next Week we are following on from the release we made a couple of weeks ago, with some of the biggest changes that we have ever made to the RPS Command Library, that will have a major impact on your personal productivity.
Introducing RPS Smart Suite Tools
Over the past year you have seen us steadily working on consolidating commands into major work process tools like PDF Manager and Smart Edit etc. that tackle an entire TBC process for Data Prep or Takeoff workflows. These tools have a common approach that includes Hot Keys, Header Bar Icons to switch commands, Multiple functions in one command like Join, Break, Trim, Extend, Fillet, Chamfer, Insert Line Segment, Remove Segment, Linestring Editing (Horizontal and Vertical), Model Flag Fixer etc.
We are rebranding several of our commands like Adjust Linestring Elevation to Smart Elevate and Takeoff Lines to Smart Draw and these will follow the same path - Smart Elevate is already able to Elevate lines in a wide variety of ways including Contour, Pad, Spot, Surface, Plane, Absolute, Delta etc. and Smart Draw provides a fast way to digitize 2D or 3D lines or create linework that incorporates straight and arc sections.
Smart Switch
The next step being released week after next, now also incorporates the ability to Smart Switch between commands. We have taken our top commands, that now make up the RPS Smart Suite of tools, and added this “Smart Concept” that allows you to simply Switch between commands rather than Open and Close commands all the time. The Close and OK buttons have been replaced with the Switch Command Button that shows you the list of your running commands and allows you to jump from one command to another, with no load or lag time. The Command Headers now also provide that Smart Switch capability. The Smart Switch Control functions on the ESC key, and pops up wherever your cursor happens to be on screen, eliminating yet another need to go to the Menus, Toolbars or Command Dialog - further reducing Mouse Clicks and Mouse Moves.
Smart Select
New for Trimble Dimensions, you are going to love the new Smart Select tool - this allows you to select data by drawing a single line (2 point or multipoint line) across the data that you want to select and Relayer or Select and Delete. You can control the width of the selection polygon - either very narrow to select data in confined spaces or gaps between lines, or wide or user defined width to select data in a larger area. This is like a polygonal snake selection technique, that provides the ability to rapidly select data in irregular areas or along curvilinear alignments extremely quickly. If you have to sort out data extracted from an unlayered PDF - this tool allows you to separate and relayer data more easily and much faster than by other means.

RPS Cloud Services
New for Trimble Dimensions - we are launching RPS Cloud Services. These leverage AI (Artificial Intelligence), ChatBot (Ask Rocky), OCR (Optical Character Recognition) and Smart New RPS Cloud Processing Technologies that allow you to connect TBC to the growing power of AI. Our new Object Creator and Object Writer technologies, allow you to select data in TBC and serve it to RPS Cloud Services, along with AI scripting to process the data and deliver it in different data formats, it also allows you to attach files and images containing unusable data along with AI scripting and convert the data into usable TBC information, and leverage our new Object Writer technology to rapidly create TBC objects. You can also copy and past information from Spreadsheets and leverage the Object Creator technology to create NEZ or SOZ points and other TBC objects including Layers and Layer Groups etc.
RPS Cloud Services commands in TBC are included in your TBC subscription for RPS All Tools and provide an entry level cloud services account that can be upgraded to process large quantities of data quickly and easily.
RPS Cloud Services, provides RPS with the ability to host AI generated Python Code (raw or modified), and create executable services, that process and optimize data, provide mathematical analysis and manipulation / formatting capabilities.
This is game changing technology for our “data format” centric industry, and can save hundreds of hours of manual processing time every year.
