Smart Edit Crashing TBC when I switch graphics to OpenGL2

Has anyone else attempted to fix Smart Edit - Linestring Edit lag and crashed TBC when running the Smart Edit command the next time? Had to “update” Smart Edit to get it working again. Looking into graphics and BIOS updates. Any other ideas?

Smart Edit is crashing my TBC as well post 24.1.1 update today, thought nothing else I’ve used so far seems to be.

Amusingly TBC is now giving me 24 different ribbon tabs everytime i open it too. I love updating TBC

Per an email i just got from shane:

Hey Grady,

We found a bug this morning that causes this, we are looking into the source of the bug but we need to wait for our developer. In the meantime you have two options to get you going

  1. I found a usable workaround - that running License Manager from the support ribbon and clicking “OK” resolved the issue until TBC was restarted and then this would need to be done again.
  2. You may install the old installation package and wait for a patch to be release on the bug, probably tonight or tomorrow. Here is a link to a version of the old installer:

Please feel free to give me a call if you want to chat about the issue or have any questions

I’ve confirmed the #1 workaround works for me. Though since the update Smart edit seems to be much more resource hungry when highlighting lines which slows the operation down immensly. Hopefully that’ll be fixed in the update coming soon.

Looks like it is fixed for me after the update. Thanks Rockpile Team!

We also have a lag caused by a double Regen caused by our Enable Line Marking switch - if you turn that off today we will have that fixed at latest by early next week - maybe by tomorrow
