SETUP AND CONFIGURATION

Command Interface Description

The Remove Duplicates command dialog looks as follows:

Objects:
Select the objects from which you want to select and relayer or delete duplicate text items.

Mode:
Select the removal method that you want to apply to the duplicate objects. The options are Delete or Relayer the duplicate objects.

If you select the Relayer mode, select the layer on which you want to place the duplicate objects. You can create a new layer or layer group using the image button.

You can filter the layer list using the image button.

EXECUTE

Remove duplicate text checkbox:
If you wish to remove duplicate text from the data selection, check this checkbox and then select your duplicate text match parameters from the options below.

Match parameters:
Ignore case checkbox:
If you check this checkbox, the case of the text will be ignored, i.e., Text1 and TEXT1 will be identified as duplicates. When the checkbox is unchecked, the case of each character in the selected text has to match for the text objects to be identified as duplicates.

Position checkbox:
If you check this checkbox, you can specify a position tolerance for the duplicate text determination. When the checkbox is unchecked, the text has to be in exactly the same location in order for it to be considered a duplicate. For example, checking the checkbox and entering a position tolerance of 0.05 will allow text objects with the same content to be up to 0.05 apart and still be considered duplicates.

Match CAD properties - Color checkbox:
If you want to limit the identification of duplicate text items to only those objects that match position and text case (see above) and those that have the same text color, check this checkbox. If you do not select this checkbox, the text can have any color and still be considered a duplicate.

Match CAD properties - Layer checkbox:
If you want to limit the identification of duplicate text items to only those objects that match position and text case (see above) and those that have the same layer, check this checkbox. If you do not select this checkbox, the text can be on any layer and still be considered a duplicate.
