Hi All,
Has anyone had any luck running the Overlapping Line Loop removal in Project Clean-up?
We have a large earthworks project (6000+ strings) where the supplied design has bloody heaps (Aussie for lots and lots) of lines that have been duplicated and then joined head to tail.
The Project Clean-up option has the Remove overlapping line loops which does an excellent job at not working.
Does anyone know of another, automated way to clean up these lines?
can you share the file Ben - I have never found Overlapping Line Loops at all useful, but let me see what you are working with and will see what I can do
Overlapping line loops only works if the line perfectly overlaps itself (meaning the line has a segment that turns 180.0000000000° and goes some distance back over itself)
Other options you have are Rockpile’s Smart Edit in Break mode or Join mode.
Another tool I’ve been using lately is the built in Shrink Wrap command on the data prep tab. This is not going to be fully automated for your whole project, but it will be able to do several lines in one run if you group them together tactfully.
