Importing a point list from excel

Trying to create a point list with P,N,E,Z that I can print to PDF. I have an Excel spreadsheet with the data, but can’t find a way to import in a way that will let me fit the data into a dynaview; also when I just copy/paste into the text box in the ‘Create Text’ dialogue, the formatting/alignment goes haywire. Is there a tool/workflow for this anywhere?

Screenshot the excel sheet than rps paste?

I use the point table for plotting points .

Is there a reason you need to print from TBC instead of just printing the table from excel? You can use point tables in TBC but if all you need is a list of points excel will be easier and look better.

I am trying to include the point table in a sheet view so it will keep our title block and the signature/seal of our PLS. It’s for landfill certification.

You can import using the TBCExcel, have the points in your project, select them and use the CreatePointLableTable command as @ryan_kolt1 suggested.

TBCExcel

As a clarification, I need to import a full table that has about 750 rows and 11 columns with headers. I tried the point table command, but it won’t accommodate all those columns. I also need to be able to keep the alignment of the cells, and be able to scale/move the table to fit on a dynaview.

Screen shot, then RPS paste the image, than dynaview the screen shot.
Only way I can think of TBC can handle excel tables. Gonna look like garbage though with the screen shot as the resolution imported is garbage.

this would be best having a PDF template and then using some PDF software to paste a screen shot or copy and paste from Excel to PDF. This is something I have mention about doing instead of the RPS Paste. Dont get me wrong that a great command.

Don’t use a screen shot, use select the cells in Excel and then CTRL C - that creates an Image of the data in Excel automatically and copies it to clipboard and then use RPS Paste to place the image(s) in TBC. If you do it this way the resolution from Excel is pretty good in my experience.

It doesn’t keep the borders for visuals though, correct, just the text?

Use the Image option in RPS Paste - then you get a formatted Table Image

Excel

TBC
