Copy/Paste data between sheets/sheet sets

Hola

How can I copy data between sheet sets? EG, if I modify info in my title block in my cross section sheet set and want that to carry over to my plan/profile set. TBC has a Copy command, but no way to ‘paste here.’ RPS Copy and RPS Paste are really handy between projects, but that’s all I have been able to use them for.

Update: I was not using Copy to Sheet or RPS copy to the full - Alan’s direction and some practice makes that a little easier.

I’m also looking for a creative way to copy over manually labeled/modified details from individual sheets for when I hit Build Sheets and that stuff goes away… I might add labels for different profiles/surfaces/nodes for example.

Update: Custom sheet type sort of solves this, but you are really limited to smaller jobs. I’m not going to make custom sheets for miles of highway, which is most of my work…

Also, I often have modified the grid axis labels where the extents of the labels for either axis on either end overlap each other. This doesn’t appear to be a template problem, as the issue repeats itself when I change the sheet set scale.

Update: Does not appear to be solvable the way I want… So I’ll continue to manually delete the extra labels on every sheet after I’m confident the sheet sets are complete.

Thanks

It appears the profile drawing hasn’t improved/changed since I last messed with it a long time ago.

Is there any sneaky way to import points/lines specifically to a profile view tied to a specific alignment?

I know I could flip the coordinate order around to have E=Station, N=Elevation then copy to profile. Is that the only/easiest way?

Also, don’t know how to make a grid that is dynamic. Manual grid-making sure sucks…

Update: The template I originally built mine from did not have ‘Grid Settings’ in the properties for any sheet sets. I’m still not 100% sure why not all sets don’t have this…

Moving the labels to be outside the grid with offsets does solve the overlap problem, but I’m not real happy with that as a solution since it necessitates using smaller Dynaview windows and I prefer to get every square inch of a smaller paper size. So with Grid Settings defined the way I like for this job they are not customizable in a sheet view since the Custom sheet views the plan or profile view directly with the selected view filter.

I’ll clean this thread up a bit with answers from Alan - thanks for the call! - as well as stuff I figured out on my own. There are a number of remaining questions…

With a Custom sheet, how can I change the surface line weight? This is easy with a cross-section sheetset:

Profiles are easy:

Surface profiles… not so much. Surface Properties likewise have no view settings for Profile View.

Use the Copy To Sheet command located on drafting tab in the Sheets section.

If you want to copy something to all the sheets in your plan set. Copy the item(s) you want and then paste in the main sheet set. Not in any of the sheets.
