Topcon TP3 file to Business Center DXF and TTM

Hi All. I have a project that was done by another party which was designed with Topcon software and equipment. I need to convert the Topcon TP3 file into a TBC file or even just a DXF and TTM so I can send out to our surveyors TSC7 tablet. I remember in the past using a Topcon software called 3D Office but it seems it may have been changed or renamed to Magnet? Does anyone have info where I can find the software to convert this Topcon file.

If you want to email me at jkoehn @ tindol construction. com. (No spaces) I can send you a link to Topcon Office 3d. I am still using it to support our topcon rental machines. Its easy enough to export out an auto cad file from the surface and linework to re create it in TBC.

I would suggest reaching out, however, to whoever sent you the TP3 and ask for the original CAD files.

Its a real pain to convert everything Topcon over to Trimble, especially if you are performing calibrations as opposed to published datums for your equipment. The Topcon equivalent is a Localization in GC3 format.

There are programs available to convert this, but in my experience, you are better off performing your own cal and just adjusting a bit for any differences, which will be very slight if even noticeable as long as each party knows what they are doing. Can’t stress enough that running published datums are much easier than a site cal if at all possible.

Once you have Topcon Office, it is not hard to convert the GC3 to a dc file. If you need, I send you a link to a video that we did for this.

Let me know if you can download the file attached.

This file might help with the conversion as well.

Thanks Jeff. If yo ucould send me that link. My email is tsilicato@corrado.com if you wanted to email it. Thanks

Thanks all for the help!

The coordinates based on the project that was used for the Topcon surface should not need to be converted. Just have them always send AUTOCAD file types. The surface will just come in as 3D faces. Same file type for any linework.
