TBC 3D Float View

I use a G502 Lightspeed Logitech with preprogrammed commands. I have just got a 3rd monitor and have floated my 3D view to it, and now my preprogrammed commands won’t work on that view. The mouse works on using the .EXE file for TBC, but for some reason will not recognize the 3D Float view. Anyone got any suggestions on how to fix or work around this?

This has been one of my biggest complaints for years. Hotkeys don’t work in Float View. I did find a small (and inconvenient) workaround. if you open any command, the hotkeys will work as long as that command stays open. As soon as you close it, the hotkeys stop working again.
The best solution I’ve found is to use Split View on a single screen instead. Of all the bug fixes I’d like to see, this is the one I’ve been waiting on for years!

Whn you say Hotkeys - do you mean Rockpile command Hotkeys or TBC Command Shortcuts?

I will take a look at this today to see if there is anything we can do.

I use a large 42” Widescren monitor and tend to dock everythng on one screen, but having said that the upcoming Smart Scene release may trigger me to use that on Screen 2.

I use the RPS Navigate wheel over command shortcuts these days so I only use RPS Command Hotkeys and rarely a command shortcut like CTRL 1 for our isolate layers or CTRL N for New layer or CTRL F for Filter line Markings etc that I use a lot.

As of right now its just the TBC hotkeys that are macroed to my mouse buttons.

OK - I have reproduced that nd I also checked our Navigate function on a Floating window, nd wile it works it pops up on the main TBc Screen not in the float window, so I will get that addressed. I cannot do anything about TBC Command Shortcuts failing to work in a Float Window or when float window is active, however I can fix our Navigate menu so that it does work in a float window which I will get addressed this week.

You will need to have your SITECH genrate you a ticket with trimble for an enhancement request if you hve not done so already to get the TBC Command Shortcuts issue addressed.

It is an Active indo issue - if the active window is your main screen window the shortcuts work, if the active window is the float view then the sortcut do not work. This also aplies to our Navigate Too nut I am going to see if that can be addressed at least in our tool.
