TBC 2026.10 Upgrade

With trepidation I upgraded to TBC 2026.1 last night (Kiwi time) - with a full uninstall through Cleaner (and advanced removal of Registry entrys) and then an offline install it took a few hours (some issues for me with my User Admin Rights from our company)

BUT it was a clean install and it seems to work ok - no errors nor crashes

ALSO the Rockpile macros I’ve tried all seem to work - yee hah!

Not extensive testing but it is nice to feel positive about a release for once!

Thanks for the share!

I downloaded yesterday and have been flipping back and forth on pulling the trigger on install for fears of the inevitable new release bugs! I have decided i do not have the courage for a couple more days…

I had a break in my routine so I downloaded and installed 2026.1 (probably against my better judgement!). Seems OK. The Dark theme is a bit funky but they warn you it is a test version. It didn’t play well with my RPS Dark theme so disabled it to try the new ‘native’ dark theme. The custom background colour doesn’t invert black lines to white when you choose a darker (but not 100% black) background colour. 4K scaling does seem better if you look at the info bar along the bottom. The icons there appear at full height, not clipped. The dark theme‘s icons are basically awful but, again, they say its a test version.

Layer manager: 8 years waiting for a change! Seems OK and the layout is persistent even after restarting. Finally. It certainly isn’t as well featured as my RPS Layer Manager but that would have been a bar too high, lol.

The biggest disappointment is the Ribbon. It is out of control. There are 29 Ribbon Tabs not including the RPS tabs. Several are devoted the ANZ Toolbox but that, of course, is not available unless you pony up for the full subscription version. The weirdest addition is the “Linework” tab next to the CAD tab. This tab is laced with “unavailable” tools unless you have a subscription. As they say, the enshitification of the software continues.

So far that’s about it. Had a few weird interface glitches as I was trying to weed out the crap but that is likely related to the dark interface option being a beta.
