Siteworks Layers in TBC

Does anybody have a complete list of all the layers that may possibly be created in TBC by importing a spj file from Siteworks? I’m trying to update my layer lists, and I like to keep a layer group of all the layers siteworks data comes in on so its easy to find in a large project, but inevitably something ends up coming in on a layer I haven’t seen yet and the new layer gets put into the generic layer group. The list I have so far is:

SCS_Design

SCS_Measure_Line

SCS_Measure_Point

SCS_StakePoint_Measured

SCS_Surface_Breakline

SCS_Surface_Volume Bndry

If you don’t use an .FXL with your field crews, you’re really missing out. I pass out a basic one for every company I do business with and encourage their use strongly.

Agreed for sure. I have a couple different FXLs that we use for most tasks, but we still have a fair bit of non-survey type people just getting a few shots on something to send me. I’d like to say that is a rare occasion, but its really not. and because they are not someone who has a rover in their hand all day they just find whatever tool lets them record a shot which is why stuff comes in on odd layers.

I would have to go search for one of my files. What does the data with Media layer look like? if there is one.

The media are weird, they don’t seem to reside on any layer, it just displays an icon with its associated point and when you turn off the point’s layer the icon goes away as well, but if you select the media icon and click “Hide layers of selected objects” nothing happens which is why I’m thinking its not on a layer.

Getting off the original topic a bit here, but the media folder visibility is found under the Raw Data section of the Advanced View Filter Settings. I find it annoying to have the Raw Data section visible in the View Filter Manager, but I also find it annoying to not have a quick way to hide media folders when the Raw Data section is hidden :man_shrugging: I haven’t really done it, but you could hide the media folders in all but one of your view filters and have just one view filter that you move to when actually viewing field photos.

I wish there was a way to do more smart things with those field photos sometimes, like export points to pdf and include the images as pdf attachments or something.

Yes I have been trying to figure out a way to export points with the images too. Perhaps Rockpile will have something along those lines in their big reveal this year.

I had not noticed that before about the raw data section containing the media folders that can be turned off. I have now learned my one thing for the day so time to go home! Thank you.
