Show Line Direction
Command Licensing and Default Menu Location

Command Description
Provides the ability to display the direction of a selected line. The tool establishes the type, colors and size of the direction indicators and whether they are static or dynamic in nature. The Show Direction setup is then used by other TML commands including Nudge, Place Aligned Blocks etc. where knowing the line direction is important to determine Left or Right offsets or location.

Added all of the Show Direction Settings to RPS Settings so that this control can be used within any command where Show Direction of selected line(s) is enabled and the settings can be accessed via RPS Settings.

Command Interface Description
The Show Line Direction command dialog looks as follows
Select line:
Select the line on which you wish to show the line direction indicators
Reverse line button:
If you wish to reverse the lines direction click this button.
Flag start / end:
Check the check boxes for Flag start and Flag end if you wish to show a flag indicator at the start and end of the line. These can be useful to determine the extents of the selected line. You can also choose the color for the start and end flags.
Flag size:
To increase / Decrease the size of the flags slide the Flag size slide bar to the right or left from its current position.
Arrow location:
You can select whether the direction arrows are static (Segments) or moving. If you select Moving, you can set or change the refresh speed using the slide bar. We typically recommend the static mode for this tool.
Arrow color:
The direction arrows are displayed as an arrow in plan view and a cone in 3D view. The arrows / cones are split color Left and Right. Here you can set the colors for the Left and Right side of the arrow using the pull down color selectors.
Arrow transparency:
The direction arrows can be opaque or transparent. set or change the arrow transparency here using the slide bar.
Arrow scaling:
The direction arrows will scale based on your current view position. As you zoom in the arrows will get smaller and as you zoom out they will get larger. You can set the base scale here using the slide bars. You can set a different base behavior for the Plan and 3D views.
Command Tips
The command Tips pane shows you how to access Help for the command (this web page).
While the focus is in the command, press “R” to rescale the size of the direction arrows to your current zoom level.

Executes the command, saves your Show Line Direction settings for use in other TMLs and closes on completion
Close
Closes the command without further execution.
