Points to Arc
COMMAND LICENSING AND DEFAULT MENU LOCATIONS
- The Points to Arc command is part of the RPS Data Prep Toolbox.
- The command is located on the Data Prep macros menu ribbon.
- The command is located in the Create / Edit menu group.
COMMAND DESCRIPTION
Provides the ability to create best-fit 3D arcs on planes defined by three 3D points. Great for architectural detailing from points measured with total stations or scanners.
SETUP AND CONFIGURATION
Command Interface Description
The Points to Arc command dialog looks as follows:
Name:
Input the name for the arc that you are creating.
Layer:
Select the layer on which you want to place the arc object you are creating.
EXECUTE
Coordinate 1, 2 and 3:
Select the three 3D points that will be used to compute the best-fit 3D arc object. Upon selecting the third point or clicking Apply the arc will be created.
APPLY BUTTON
When you tap Apply, the 3D arc will be generated and the command will prepare itself for another selection set and another process execution. If you do not want to make a second selection and repeat the process, tap Close to finish the process.
CLOSE BUTTON
Closes the command without further execution.
