WorksManager GCS900 Fake Machine

Does anyone know a work-around to add a fake GCS900 machine (CB460, etc) to WorksManager without actually ever syncing a real machine? None of our older machines have modems to connect and sync for the initial sync required by the WorksManager device dashboard. Is there an actual handshake that must take place, or is WorksManager just looking for a particular sync file in TCC?

The end goal here is to click one button to publish a WM design and automatically generate machine files for the older equipment…

When exporting designs to WorksManager from TBC in the Construction Data tab. I would export to USB which will create the folders for GCS, SCS, Siteworks and Earthworks along with the design for each software in the appropriate folder on to the designated drive/usb.

You should be able to do this with no tricks if you are publishing from TBC. Even if you publish individually for machine control and Controllers. The download button should convert into the necessary files without having a machine assigned.

@Plheureux, that is my backup solution if I can’t get the other to work. But if everything will go to TCC, I can keep all machine files at my fingertips in Windows file explorer (using TCC Explorer) without ever opening the WorksManager dashboard.

I am guessing that you could do that using the GCS900 Emulator if GCS900 has an Emulator Version that supports the Works Manager interface.

I am also guessing that you could likely get at the underlying TCC folder structures and create a GCS900 Folder for a Fake Machine that Works Manager would pick up on

I have no idea if either of these are possible, but that would be my guess

I no longer have a TCC account that I can get at as an Admin so I cannot help you directly unfortunately.

The emulator did the trick once I discovered that the modem needed installed within the emulator to populate the connectivity settings. Thanks for the input @Ken_Bork1 , @Plheureux , @alan.sharp , @Chris_Bayliff .
