Does anyone have any tip in exporting surfaces to SketchUp to make them lightweight
Grid the surface and then TIN the grid
Sketchup will change the TIN anyway to form planar polygons where the triangles are flat it merges the triangles into planar faces.
While a grid is not as accurate as the original TIN it works well in Sketchup - it all depends on what you are trying to achieve in Sketchup- if it is visualization or a model to see if something fits or can be used eg a machine process etc. The grid is normally good enough.

Thanks Alan
Its for visualization and 4D planning, using sketch & synchro, trying to get the land look more realistic
Great Tip
