Rockpile Custom Controls - File Selector Control

Rockpile Custom Controls - File Selector Control

In several RPS commands there is a requirement to select a mapping file that is used to map e.g. Layers to Layer Groups (Layer by Name) or Layer Names to Object Names (Name by Layer) etc.

The File selector control provides the ability to browse for the required mapping file and also to edit the mapping file using the application on your computer that is associated with the file extension of the mapping file e.g. TXT files will open in notepad and CSV files in Excel.

If you right click in the Map file name field you will be offered the options to

  • Browse
  • Project Data
  • Copy the file name to the clipboard

If you select Browse, the initial browse location will be the RPS Settings folder as defined in the RPS Settings - File locations settings. You can browse to any other location on your computer from there.

If you select Project Data, the initial browse location will be to the current TBC project folder. You can browse to any other location on your computer from there.

If you Copy the file name to the clipboard, the path and file name will be copied to the windows clipboard so that you can e.g. locate the file using an application or your file explorer etc.

You can also click the […] button and that will also start a browse in your RPS Settings folder.

Once a file is selected, the control changes to show the file edit button as shown below
