Added Header Bar commands to create extended workflows
Added Command Tips to command
August 2022
The Quick Line command was updated to include the following improvements
- The elevation of a snapped 3D line is now shown and made available for acceptance - before it was not displayed. This makes the 3D snapping more intuitive to use.
- When you have Plan and 3D views open at the same time in tiled form, you can now draw in either window snapping to 3D lines or 2D lines as needed. Before the command would appear to lose focus when you moved from one window to the other.
Command Interface Description
The Quick Line command dialog looks as follows
Name:
Enter the name of the linestring that you are about to create
Layer:
Select the layer from the layer list pull down on which to place the linestring or create a new layer if necessary.
Coordinate:
Click locations where you want nodes for the linestring to be.
If you hold the CTRL key down when clicking a location this signifies the End of an Arc and an Arc will be created after you click your next point (the arc created uses the Tangent Tangent Arc which means that there has to be two points at the start and two points at the end of the arc that define the two tangents and the arc is then fitted to the two tangents.
If you have back to back arcs either in the same or opposite direction (left hand then right hand) then use a small short straight between the arcs when digitizing them.
If your line starts or ends with an arc, digitize two points on a short straight at the start or end of the line to create the arc.
Elevation:
Enter an elevation for the node that you are creating. Click the arrow on the right hand side of the field if you wish to skip entry of elevations for each node. If you want to be prompted for the elevation on each node creation, click to deactivate the “sticky button”. Note that if the sticky button is enabled and you click a 3D location that the elevation will be extracted and applied automatically. If the sticky button is enabled and you click a 2D location no elevation will be assigned to the clicked location.
New:
Click New to create a new line, creating a gap to the last node of the previous line. Enter the name for the new line and continue clicking node locations.
You can also hit the “N” key to create a New Line
Apply:
When you tap apply, if the name field is currently highlighted, the name will be confirmed and you can start drawing the new line.
Close:
Closes the command without further execution.
