The New Layer custom control is currently being extended to allow you to apply a Takeoff Category to the new layer and also define that the layer has potential site improvement boundaries and also define an associated site improvement - so that as layers are created you can take care of the Takeoff processes at the same time.
In addition we just added the ability to populate the layer list in the Relayer command using the layers in the same layer group as a layer that you select - this will speed up adding multiple layers from the same layer group to the layer list. Combined with the ability to delete the contents of the layer list (released yesterday) again makes this faster and easier for users.
We will also update the Geometeic Selection command with the same tools once we have them finalized in the Relayer command.
These updates should be released next week
