Could the line direction markers change size based on current and future zoomed views? For example, if line is selected very close and then the user zooms out the markers are no longer scaled to a viewable size. this also applies to a selection at a wide zoom once zoomed in very close.
We have implemented in eg QA lines an ability to regen at different zoom levels - at some.piint we will add thar to this conteol also

If you toggle them off and on they will get resized - it just is not dynamic that would cause a lot of Regens
