HCSS Export Command
COMMAND LICENSING AND DEFAULT MENU LOCATIONS
- The HCSS Export command is part of the RPS Tool Shed Toolbox.
- The command is located on the Tool Shed macros menu ribbon.
- The command is located in the Export menu group.
COMMAND DESCRIPTION
Exports a line or alignment to the .csv file format required by HCSS Plans.

SETUP AND EXECUTE
Command Interface Description
The Export HCSS command dialog looks as follows:
Select objects to export:
Select one or more lines or alignments to export to the HCSS Plans .csv file format.
Note:
HCSS Plans does not currently support alignments containing Spirals. Where Spirals are present, the command exports the Spiral PI point and no radius information. In addition, the Start Point of the inbound Spiral and the last point on the outbound Spiral will also be written as additional points to the output file. This more closely approximates the source line.
Where the alignment contains Station Equations, no Station Equations will be written to the exported file.
In both situations, the Results pane for the command will flag whether the alignments selected contain either of these elements. The alignments should only contain straight-line and arc segments at this time.
Export folder:
Select the folder into which the .csv files that are created (one for each alignment) will be placed.
If you right-click in the folder path field, you can select the Project Folder, RPS Settings Folder, or simply elect to browse for a folder location. You can also elect to copy the filename to the clipboard.
Clicking the […] button will open the Browse for Folder dialog, from which you can select a folder or create a new folder. Pressing OK selects the folder and closes the dialog. Selecting Cancel closes the dialog with no selection.
One file will be created for each alignment that you select. The file name for each file will be the name of the line / alignment selected for export with the file extension .csv.
INPUTS
Select Objects to Export:
Select one or more lines or alignments that you wish to export to the HCSS Plans .csv file format.
Export Folder:
Select the folder where the exported .csv files will be saved. One file will be created for each selected line or alignment using the object name as the file name.
REPORTS
The HCSS Export command does not generate a separate report.
The command provides results information during export and will flag selected alignments that contain unsupported Spirals or Station Equations.
HOT KEYS
U = Unlock
Q = Rotate Screen 15 degrees clockwise
E = Rotate Screen 15 Degrees anti clockwise
SHIFT Q = Rotate Screen 30 Degrees clockwise
SHIFT E = Rotate Screen 30 Degrees Anti Clockwise
WASD = Pan Up, Pan Left, Pan Down, Pan Right
SHIFT M = Pop Up Menu
Shift X = Undo Last Click or Pop Up Elevation Entry
X = Start Over
Z = Decrement
C = Increment
Shift Z = Reverse Direction to Downwards / Decrease (and decrease 2x)
Shift C = Reverse Direction to Upwards / Increase (and Increase by 2x)
HEADER BAR COMMANDS
In the Header Bar of the command dialog, you will find quick-access buttons to other commands that you may find useful while running this command. Commands included in the Header Bar of this command include:

COMMAND BUTTONS
OK
Executes the command and creates the .csv files (one for each alignment selected).
Close
Closes the command without further execution.
