Creating a Corridor or Alignment Based Cut Fill Map

Can you create a Cut Fill Map that is alignment based, i.e. the Cut and Fill Labels are at Station and offsets along the alignment? The answer is yes! Then how do I do it …

The Cut Fill Map between 2 surfaces is sensitive to one of the surfaces being a Corridor Surface or being an Alignment Based Surface Model. So if you have a road model made from linear feature lines or from cross sections, if you go to its properties and make the surface Alignment Based and then select the Alignment to be used as the reference, or if the the surface is a surface model derived from a corridor model, then when you create a Cut Fill Map between say Existing Ground and the surface (defined as mentioned here) then by default the Cut Fill Map axes for the grid of labels becomes Station and Offset vs X and Y.

The video shows you how.
