AutoCAD proxies

I just downloaded AutoCAD so I can bring a CAD file clean it up a bit and then import it to Trimble BC. Does anyone know how to get rid of the AECC boxes in a CAD file that shows up in Trimble BC? Attached is a pic of the most recent CAD file brought into BC with those boxes

Civil3d? Run proxygraphics=1
if not this video may help

If the designer sets the Proxygraphics setting to “0” (disabled) before they export your linework file those don’t come in that way. Hope that helps.

I usually explode all pipe & structure networks, then burst all blocks (sometimes multiple times). I also delete all layout tabs and detach all xrefs. Finally export the drawing to AutoCAD 2010 format (not C3D format). Then import that basic CAD file into TBC.

The RPS CAD Cleanup command in Step 2 (Miscellaneous) has a checkbox for this exact issue - it selects them all and deletes them automatically.

Command is part of Data Prep and Smart Suite

Thanks everyone to these solutions

Alan, where do I find the RPS CAD cleanup tool

I have just normal AutoCAD. I opened the AutoCAD file and typed PROXYGRAPHICS in the command line and set it to 1. Not sure if I need to do a save as from there and then export it.

Tom,

Hit F12 on your keyboard and then type cad into the search bar
