In the View Filter Manager, at the base of the View Filter Dialog area, there are some additional settings. One of those settings is called “Show feature symbol only”. If this is enabled, and the points do not have any associated Feature Symbols then the points will be invisible as encountered by the user above. Simply un-check this setting to make your points visible again.
