TBC Solar Farm Piling Work Process

In the following videos we show you the Solar Farm Piling Work Process that we have put together to supplement what is already available withing Trimble Business Center for Piling processes. The three step process provides the ability to

  • Create Pile Definitions that define the Material, Length, Cross sectional shape and size of piles, their minimum embedment depth and name and link the properties to the Solar Project Pile Colors.
  • Define custom import scripts for Design Piles, As Built Piles and Survey QA information that allow the mapping of data from spreadsheet columns to Pile Plans (for solar blocks), Design or As Built Pile positions, elevations, dips, rotations and custom adjustments (e.g. for Motor piles that need rotation by 90 degrees or Dead End piles that need a height adjustment) and for survey point data (2 points per pile) used to check final twist and elevation of the pile tops after piling has been completed.
  • Create a detailed QA Report for all of the piles selected that analyzes 5 metrics for each pile against design tolerances. The QA report is a multi tab Excel Report that has a summary tab, 5 quality metric tabs and a pile overview tab that shows the Pass / Fail results for each pile analyzed.
  1. Position of the pile - N, E and 2D delta distance between Design and As Built Pile location
  2. Elevation of the pile top - compares the elevation of each pile top against a tilted plane created between the first and last pile of each row (solar table)
  3. Dip and DIp Orientation - Checks the Dip (inclination angle) and the Dip Direction of the pile
  4. Twist - Checks the rotation of the pile from its design orientation
  5. Minimum Embedment - Checks that the pile has been embedded by the minimum embedment requirement
