Modeling Sanitary Sewers and Sewer Laterals using Vertical Design

In the example below we show how you can use the Vertical Design Tool to accurately and quickly model a Sanitary Sewer Network and its lateral connections to houses. The key benefit of this approach is that if you need to adjust an elevation or a slope of the main line or a lateral, the rest of the network will instantly update to the new elevations or slopes that you define.

This is a quick and easy way to model an entire network using the information provided on the plans, and the method can be further extended to model the edges of trench base from those pipe lines - use the multi offset line to create the offset lines to the main line and sewer laterals and then use vertical design to elevate those using a cross slope rule (0% slope).
